The patch that I downloaded, really didn't do anything noticeably different. The overview is about the only change its smaller and harder to read now...
Not impressed, I got completely cut off from seeing the new graphics, and the patch for those players who don't have super end graphics cards sucks. Dunno how much I will keep playing.
Feel kind of left behind, for the sake of better graphics.
Okay, I usually try to avoid being nasty to people on these boards -
And this is no exception (nice surprise, huh? :D)
Nevertheless, I would like to say that if you've been "left behind" by the new graphics, you really can't reasonably blame CCP for that. DirectX 9.0c has been out for a long while now, and shader model 3 is hardly cutting-edge technology either. So anything that's not within about a $60-or-so upgrade of being Premium-worthy is basically a paperweight anyway.
CCP have taken the sensible route by leaving the old graphics technology in place for users on older systems - which is really all that they needed to do.
While I'm sorry that you don't have access to the shiny stuff, at the end of the day it is not CCP's fault, and you shouldn't be complaining at them. The option is always available to you to go upgrade your machine, after all.
I see no reason why the rest of EVE should be deprived of the pretty new technology, just because you've been dragging your heels.
Dragging heels, no its called having responsibilities and a life.
And yes left behind is an applicable thing to say. In the fact that the patch for the "classic" version didn't do anything graphically. After they bragged so much about all their time and effort into the graphics for the expansion. They didn't do anything for those who wouldn't be able to "upgrade".
THAT is what left behind meant, had the comment actually been read with eyeballs. Than there would be a better understanding of the english used therein. Anyways, its just disappointing that they hyped up their expansion. And didn't make it accesible to all their users.
IN the MMO universe, you don't leave paying customers behind. Or you LOSE said customers. Eve doesn't have all that many in the first place. It was a poor decision, to do nothing to the classic version.
Done with this topic. Anyone who wants to speak back against me, i'm glad you were able to see the shiny new graphics, and have enough money to support that. Goodjob, i'll go join the rest of the world, who can't always update, but still can pay to play.
